The amendment, which need to be approved by parliament, read that:
• A foreign national must live in Georgia for 10 years to receive a permanent residency permit. The term in the current law is 6 years.
• Foreign nationals will be able to receive a temporary residency permit for 12 years, instead of current six years. However, after six years, if they have no motive to stay in the country, they will again receive the temporary permit of residency and will not apply for the permanent residency.
• The Ministry of Economy of Georgia is working to raise the €15,000 limit for investors to receive a temporary residency permit.
